Zbrush is the industry standard for digital sculpting.

You have probably seen some of its product if you have gone to a movie that used high level 3d animation.

Unfortunately, the company was purchased by Maxon last year and its gone to a monthly subscription model.

The software uses black magic of some sort because you can go into insane level of geometry while retaining good performance from your computer. My workflow for high detail models always includes ZBrush.

...its gone to a monthly subscription model...
Aaahhh the Adobe effect...and the instant you don't/forget to renew said subscription you're "locked" out of their Cloud based facility (not your hard-drive) and are held to ransom should you "need" access to your own work (or video footage of your security camera after being burgled)...Cloud based subsrcriptions, nah i'll pass..rant over lol.

Unfortunately true. I am keeping my old perpetual license and won't be upgrading to the newest version. Since I only use maybe 5 percent of the old version it'll be a while before I notice anything. The program is incredibly powerful.

I was wrong. They still have perpetual licensing. What changed is there will no longer be any free upgrades with version changes. Still at $900 US for a perpetual license or $30 US a month rental.
