i've added a coloured Prefix to the start of every New thread.
It's not comulsory to use them but it may help other members (at a quick glance) in identifying the purpose of your NEW Post/Thread.
For example, you may want a Question answering to a problem...once the question has been answered to "your" satisfaction, you (or the staff) may then edit the Prefix to Resolved to identify that no further answers are required.
