One day, the bracket for our living room curtain just broke. Instead of buying new hardware, I designed new brackets for each end, and the middle. I used Sketchup, and after several iterations, I had the brackets made, installed and the curtains were back in service. My wife painted them so they wouldn't look so bad. That was a couple of years ago. They are still hanging in there. :)

Sometimes, it's the little things that make me happy (and her) :)

What filament did you use buddy ?...curious as some are stronger (don't crack easily) and sturdier and can hold weight well, whereas some wouldn't last a summer.

More of a FYI for newcomers to the hobby.

I can't recall but I think it is PLA + eSun Fire Engine Red. That's why we painted the brackets.

Bracket strength comes from design, not filament. Normally, I build strength members on their sides. Thru holes (now parallel to the build deck) come out a little wonky, but a typical L bracket is much stronger. Also, try to fillet angles. Two 45°'s are much stronger than a single 90°. Make your fillet the thickness of your finished part.
